The Tools project has divided the Murray-Darling Basin into a number of regions, which are based on the Murray-Darling Basin Commission planning regions, and on groundwater systems within the Basin. The map below shows these regions. A series of workshops will be held in each region. Each workshop series consists of the Prelude workshop, which aims to:

  • Assess the status of regional salinity management strategies and on ground works

  • Facilitate group discussion

  • Look to the future

  • Assess the salinity planning needs

  • Identify opportunities for further Tools workshops

Following the Prelude workshop up to 3 workshops will be held in each region. These region specific workshops will be tailored to the needs of the local community, and where possible will integrate with other relevant programs and training courses.
