Regional groundwater flow systems workshops
A series of workshops have been held in the different regions of the Murray-Darling Basin in conjunction with the regional catchment groups and the NDSP TOOLS project to:
bullet Produce maps of the groundwater flow systems at the regional scale
bullet Describe the characteristics of each of the groundwater flow systems
bullet Broadly define which management options are viable for each of the groundwater flow systems on the basis of these characteristics
bullet Develop FACT SHEETS for each region as part of the TOOLS project

The maps presented here are generally provisional, that is they continue to be refined. Over time, the characteristics of each groundwater flow system becomes better understood and so do the implications for management. It should be noted that in each case regional and state staff have taken a major role in producing these maps. They are presented here together so that those outside the region can see what groundwater flow systems operate.

Murray-Darling Basin
A groundwater flow systems map has been produced for the Murray-Darling Basin at a coarser scale to show variability of groundwater flow systems across the Murray-Darling Basin. As the project proceeds, information and tools produced will enable this map to meet a number of policy needs.
